Emily is originally from Winchester, Massachusetts, and is a proud graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she earned a B.A. in Geology. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Earth Science from the University of New Hampshire (UNH), where her love for Maine began. While conducting research for her thesis, collecting sediment samples from Penobscot Bay, Emily fell in love with the stunning coastline and the charm of Maine’s architecture. Early in her career, Emily worked in the environmental remediation industry, traveling across the country to assess and address environmental concerns for large corporations.
After several years on the road and ready to put down roots, she transitioned into teaching, a decision that combined her passion for science with her desire to make a difference. Now with over 19 years of teaching experience, Emily also holds a Master’s in Teaching from UNH and currently teaches Chemistry at a local high school.
Emily officially made Maine her home in 2013, after living in three other New England states. Her interest in real estate was sparked in high school, thanks to her mother’s love of open houses. That early curiosity grew into a passion for interior design and home staging, which she brings to her work as a NAR member today. With her background in education, Emily understands the importance of listening, clear communication, and guiding people through unfamiliar processes, skills she now uses to support her clients through buying or selling their homes.
She especially enjoys helping clients stage their homes to highlight their full potential. In her free time, Emily loves mountain biking with her son William, walking the dogs with her husband Shonn, cheering on her stepdaughter Sage at dance competitions, and indulging in creative hobbies like knitting, sewing, and tap dancing. She also loves exploring the natural beauty of Maine the place she now proudly calls home.
